Course Description

The neighborhoods of Highland Park and University Park (as well as  Greenway Parks, within the City of Dallas) are home to important examples of American twentieth-century residential architecture. Delve into the origins and development of these enclaves and investigate the architects who designed the significant homes that give them their distinct character: Hal Thomson, Charles Dilbeck, David Williams, Fooshee & Cheek, Jon Carsey, and many others. We also will discuss the social and economic impetus that motivated the development of these distinctive neighborhoods.
