Course Description

Well-being for Creative Professionals is designed to help participants gain insight and tools related to personal well-being, creative professional work, and the connection between the two. This course is highly participatory in nature. We’ll explore what well-being means for each participant through discussion, writing exercises, and individual goal setting. Class time will be spent discussing different facets of well-being with a focus on helping each participant decide how they want to apply what’s learned into their own life and creative practice. This course is designed to be fun, engaging, and insightful. If you’re ready to learn more about yourself and how you work best as an individual and a creative professional, this course is for you!

Week 1: Well-being as a Creative Professional and an Individual
Week 2: Fostering a Constructive Creative Process
Week 3: Building the Physical Self: Diet, Exercise, and Sleep
Week 4: Less of the Bad: Burnout and Stress
Week 5: More of the Good: Flow, Play, Connection, Creativity
Week 6: Putting It All Together: Meaning, Purpose, and Coherence

Notes

Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook or journal to class to take notes and do writing exercises.
