Course Description
Adobe® InDesign® takes desktop publishing and design to the next level. In this course, you'll learn to create polished, multi-page documents for print and digital distribution, using professional layout tools and AI-assisted features to improve efficiency and production-ready design.
Course Outline
This course consists of five modules:
Module 1: InDesign® Interface, Pages and Spreads, Visual Elements
Module 2: Parent Pages and Layers, Layout, Graphics
Module 3: Text Formatting, Special Text and Paragraph Features
Module 4: Generative AI for Text and Images
Module 5: Interactivity, Preview, Publishing and Printing
Learner Outcomes
This course provides a comprehensive foundation for students to become technically proficient within the Adobe® InDesign® application, developing and demonstrating an understanding of the capabilities of the application.
Upon completion of the course, a successful student will be able to do the following:
- Navigate the workspace, key tools and menu of InDesign®
- Recognize the purpose and process of using InDesign® for document layout
- Apply design principles to create multi-page, grid-based layouts with consistent structure and visual hierarchy
- Incorporate and format text, images, and design elements using a range of InDesign tools and techniques
- Export professional-quality print and interactive PDF documents that meet industry standards

Required for this class is Adobe® InDesign®or a Adobe®Creative Cloud All Apps plan with Desktop Apps downloaded on your home computer or laptop.
You will need a Creative Cloud account username and password.
