Course Description

Explore Faulkner’s densely poetic, complex 1929 novel focused on the destruction and downfall of a Southern aristocratic family. Told from four different perspectives, Faulkner’s innovative storytelling represents “the realities of mental chaos, the fluidity of time and memory, and the painful interweaving of separate selves in family life.” Join us to delve into The Sound and the Fury, considered Faulkner’s first masterpiece and a landmark in the history of modern American literature.
