Course Description

As voice increasingly replaces fingertips, e-commerce is set to become v-commerce.  Voice, not screens, is quickly becoming the most important user interface as consumers shift their search and purchasing behaviors to more convenient voice enabled devices like Siri, Amazon Echo, Google Home etc.  How consumers experience your brand and organization will increasingly be through voice.  This device-neutral course will share current and emerging best practices in experience design and branding with voice.  Taught by DFW’s most prominent practitioner in voice interaction design you will learn:

  • Introduction to voice enabled device technologies, fields of practice, ecosystem and terminology
  • Understand all the most important platforms in detail and implications for businesses, customers and employees
  • Natural Language Processing (NLU) vs Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)
  • Voice User Interface (VUI) design principles and best practices
  • Conversational User Interface (CUI)  - customer experience design and personalization
  • Similarities and differences between CUI’s/chatbots and VUI
  • Designing persona’s for chatbots and VUI’s
  • Personalization over voice
  • Branding strategies and considerations for VUI and CUI
  • Evaluating successful and failed case studies in designing experiences and branding over voice enabled devices
