Course Description

Prepare for audition season in a supportive environment facilitated by an experienced vocal performance instructor. Learn how to select the best repertoire and how other elements of a successful portfolio, like branding, headshots, and creating a resume, can showcase you. Build your confidence, gain immediate feedback, and grow as a performer when you practice and perform in a peer group setting with expert guidance. 

Course Outline

Day 1: What is an audition book? What should be in it? How do I organize it? How do I select repertoire to represent myself? 

Day 2: How do we build effective musical cuts? Where are some resources to assist with this endeavor? How to avoid the 5 biggest audition mistakes. 

Day 3: Audition techniques, polishing the performance, characterization, branding and presentation. Coaching audition cut for performance at final class. 

Day 4: Final performance and mock auditions.
