Course Description

Graphic design combines visual and verbal elements to convey a specific message or idea. Designers use both artistic and technical skills to express their creativity.  Explore art elements and principles and experiment with different digital tools to create illustrations, technical drawings, logo designs, and advertising posters and products.   Each session will include instruction and studio time using software like Adobe® Photoshop® and Adobe® Illustrator®.

Learner Outcomes

  • Students will use creativity and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions in order to plan, design and create products using appropriate tools.
  •  Students who complete the workshop will have projects to add to their portfolios for college applications or to show to a potential graphic design client.

Notes

This course includes a mandatory supply fee, which covers all materials used in class.

Prerequisites

This is an advanced workshop intended for students with previous studio art experience.
