CSC101 - Beginning Drawing

Course Description

Learn to draw and strengthen your observational skill using the techniques of sighting, continuous line and subtractive value study. Working with graphite, charcoal, ink and watercolor on paper, create compositions taken from direct observation.

Course Outline

Class 1 - Introduction. Subtractive charcoal value study

Class 2 - Sighting lecture and demonstration ,line study of still life

Class 3 - Continued line study with value study added to line drawing

Class 4 - Outdoor continuous line drawing with added watercolor

Class 5 - Ink drawing with stick and ink wash

Class 6 - Portraiture
