Practical Skills for the Classroom and Workplace

Whether you're returning to the classroom or starting a new project in the workplace, this course builds the core skills needed for success: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Explore practical, easy-to-use digital tools to enhance note-taking, organization, presentations, group work, and more. By the end of the course, you’ll have the strategies and confidence to thrive in your next academic or professional endeavor.

Course Outline


  • Define 21st Century Learning Skills and the 4 Cs - understand how and when to apply these skills in various scenarios and activities in the classroom and in the workplace.
  • Tool Exploration for Success - survey available tools and identify those that align with your academic or workplace needs and support the core skills.
  • Interactive Infographic Resource - explore an interactive infographic to serve as a resource to prioritize your current and future workload effectively and efficiently.
  • Application to Your Interests - participate in an activity to apply your new skills to your career goals or program of study
