Course Description

The saying "everything old is new again" can apply to many fields, including interior design. Explore the historic origins and evolution of some of today’s most popular interior design trends, including the use of color, accessories, lighting, and incorporating art and antiques. Join CAPE instructor, architectural historian Dr. Jann Mackey, along with Courtney and Teddie Garrigan at their award-winning home décor store Coco & Dash for a lively and fascinating discussion about the influences of notable twentieth-century designers and how to integrate traditional elements into contemporary design. 

 

Course Outline

  •  Gain expert insights about how to create relaxed, yet sophisticated rooms that are fresh and stylish, as well as timeless.
  • Learn how the work of notable designers of the twentieth century, such as Nancy Lancaster, John Fowler, Sister Parish, Dorothy Draper, and Syrie Maugham, continues to influence interior design today.
